Summer Bliss 07.11.2009

This was a fun fun day. This gorgeous bride was the most helpful, cheerful, calm bride I have ever worked with. She spent most of the time asking everyone what she could do for them!! She looked gorgeous in her dress, and somehow never seemed to break a sweat the ENTIRE hot day. Superwoman, i swear.

Check out this glowy look-- I didn't even realize i still had the star filter on!

I had Matt second shooting with me for until the end of the ceremony. He did a great job. I love when clients book 2 photographers, so we can be in multiple places at once. :)

Isn't this a good looking group? I love the royal blue.

And cute little fans for all the wedding attendees!

Great capture by Matt...
The Union building on OU campus is beautiful! Great food, and great fun. Dustin came, having finished his wedding from up in Edmond, and I got to assist him (and relax) for the rest of the night. But i can't NOT take pictures, especially with a super cool room and fisheye lens.
Love the lighting on the walls here... gives me an idea for our new office...

These guest treats were super yummy. I convinced Dustin to give me his. Score. It was a coated cake/chocolate something. A-mazing.
Check out this rainbow ray with the flash using the star filter. Cool! All of these are Dustin's.
What are the chances of taking a picture at the exact time someone's flash goes off? Have you done that before?
Notice something missing from this bouquet toss? Yep, the bouquet! Strong-armed bride threw it all the way up into one of those lanterns. 3-pointer! (Note: Dustin's the flash guru, doing all kinds of cool stuff. Love those pocket wizards.)
So let's try this again, from a little lower down this time. Perfect.
Thanks for so much fun! We all had a blast.

Great news...

We have finally put our son to work for the business!!

Just kidding. He was just "helping" us with some extra pieces of carpet squares.

We are officially studio owners! Well, studio leasers. We have an official downtown Norman office on main street! This is a big step, and we are very excited for the growth of our business. We got the walls painted last week a daring chocolate brown, and purchased a couch set, and (*sniff*) put our large screen tv up there.

We are super excited, and are in the process of ordering prints for the walls, and other fun home decorating things.

Wahoo!

i heart dustin

So we've had the chance to shoot a number of weddings together so far this wedding season, and we decided it's our favorite. Not only do we get to be creative, but we get to hang out together sans kid and have fun! I highly suggest couples have some common interest they can enjoy together like this. We've had a number of couples take our photography classes, and it's great to see them working together. This was my last wedding to shoot before the next bambino arrives, but Dustin has more. So glad this isn't a solo effort!

So these fun photo booth pics are the product of a super smart and ingenious groom who programmed and built the whole booth himself. A.mazing. Seriously. And the photos that came out were beautiful. Makes me want to buy a uber expensive printer. Okay, maybe later. We've invested a LOT lately, but that's for another post.

We have tons of weddings to post, but this is all for now. Enjoy our lovey-dovey-ness! ;)

Quick update

we've spent the last few days on something exciting for the business... can't wait to tell you about it. But for now, off to bed!

Happy Birthday to me!

So today is already going to be the best day ever. I had a happy morning with my son and husband, Boston Cream filled doughnut, and a helping husband who's letting me just blog and have some fun for a while on my computer while he holds the fort down.

More fun is planned for the rest of the day, and i'll fill you in later on that. But for now...

Birthday fun!
So here's what I want you to do. Since most of our life revolves around our business lately, especially just getting a downtown office, etc., I want to share that with you! So go take a browse around our photoblog, facebook page, twitter, or website. Follow our Rss feed, link to us, Comment, post, tweet, chat... whatever you want. Tell us what you like about our photography, or us, or anything. Tell as many (or as few) people as you want about us.

And if the whole social networking thing is completely foreign to you, just do what you want (email, tell a friend). Or you can just give a moving and captivating testimonial just how awesome we are. ;)

And in return i want to share with you something. But it's a suprise. It'll be a digital something that i'll email to you. So when you're done shouting to the world about us, come back and leave a quick comment with your email! We want to know what everyone does, just for fun.

And since not everyone checks blogs daily, this will be up for a week: July 28th @ midnight. After then you're still welcome to give some fan love to our photog biz, but the surprise email gift will be done. :)

So have a great day, and i hope life is treating you well. Thank you for visiting, friends!

Laura Getting Ready

We've had so much fun shooting lately, haven't gotten around to blogging! This was a fun day Dustin and I got to shoot all day long together. I started out at Lollie's Beauty Bar here in Norman, and got some fun shots of Laura and her mother getting their hair done. It's an adorable boutique hair salon, with lots of pizzaz.

Their hair stylist was also pregnant! She was due in a month at the time, and me 3 months. Guess who was bigger? Me. Yep. That's okay, i'm over it. She was super cute, though.

See that sonic in the background there? There's a story about that, but you'll have to ask Laura... :)

Laura is just the most kind and happy person, it was so fun to have the day to spend with her! She's a schoolteacher, and it shows from how she handles stress and details. She's awesome. She and her honey are super in love, and just the neatest people. (And small world, she actually lives in our development!) More from her wedding coming up!! With 2 photogs, and lots of coverage, that's a lot of photos to edit!!

A sneak peak...

Two weddings in one day.......definitely getting too old for that! Two days later and I'm still sore. But thanks to both couples for letting us be a part of it!

Note for photogs......except for the vignette....all strait out of camera. It's amazing what you can do with lights and lens filters!

Queen Family Session

This was a fun evening we spent up in Yukon for a Family Session, a gathering of a fun family before some of them head off around the world! Thanks for a fun time, and great food!! Here are a few of my favorites of the candids. We always love sessions we get to go together for!

Good luck with everything friends!
